Why Android Box Power Button Not Working (Fixed!)

Why Android Box Power Button Not Working

Like any other technological piece, the Android box is not prone to any technicalities. One such issue is the Android box power button not working.

There can be various reasons as to why such an issue occurs and like most other technical issues, this issue can also be resolved. Below, we shall take a look at what causes this problem to occur and how we can resolve it.

The Reason Android box when plug power not start

1, why the power button is not working can be the simplest one, meaning, because of a lot of usage or the multiple times the power button has been pressed, the clip at the bottom of the button might have become weak or could be broken hence even if it looks as if you are pressing the button.

It is not being actually pressed. To find out whether this is your case, check whether the power button is in a depressed position or not, if it is, it indicates that that power button is stuck in a specific position hence it seems not working.

2, for this problem to occur may be the power supply of your Android box. To explain this in easier terms, the power supply is the main supplier of electricity to your Android box allowing it to function properly.

But, in this case, you can assume that the power supply is either burnt due to fluctuation of the electric supply if it occurs or that the power supply is not plugged in properly and lastly that the current is not properly crossing through the power supply causing it to look like the Android box is turned on but the button is not working.

3, we can also include the fact that the last time the Android box was turned off, it was not done in the proper manner, but rather in a rough manner such as pulling out the chord of the power supply directly of the switch without turning off the box properly, hence the next time you are turning on your Android power box using the power button, it will seem not to work properly.

4, the adaptor is also known to cause such a problem as it might not function properly. Dusty adaptors don’t allow proper conduction of electricity hence it may feel that even though everything is fine, the power button is not working.

5, Batteries also seem to cause such problems as usage makes the battery weaker as time passes till it is almost dead which in turn barely gives enough supply of volts to your Android box causing the power button to light up but making it seem like it is not working.

5, Lastly, if a secondary power source such as a laptop or a desktop is being used to provide the required supply to your Android box, it may be providing insufficient supply to allow the Android box to work properly but enough to turn on the LED light of the power button hence making the situation look like the power button is not working.

Below is a list of solutions that you must try and are sure to solve your problem whichever case it may be from the ones listed above.

How do you fix an Android TV box that wont turn on?

1. You either try using a thin pin to remove whatever it may be that is causing your power button to be stuck in a depressed position so that it may resume functionality or if you don’t find anything that may be causing it to presume such a position, you can try pressing the power button harder, even though it is not recommended, it is a solution that could help your case.

2. If the above mentioned does not resolve your issue, check the power supply of your Android box, and check for any smell of something burning, if so, replace the power supply and the cable that is connecting your Android box as soon as possible to stop any advancing issues. You can also try plugging the power supply cable back in again tightly so that the supply is uninterrupted.

3. If you remember that the Android box was not turned off properly after its last use, try doing a factory reset through these steps; unplug the power cable from your box, use a screwdriver or something similar to gently press the ‘SPDIF or AV port’ found at the hind-side of your Android box.

While its pressed, plug in the power cable again and keep the button pressed till you see the boot logo, let go of the button as soon as the boot logo disappears and wait for the Startup Screen to appear or the Android Recovery Screen, as soon as the screen appears to go to the bootloader menu and select the factory reset and delete all user data options, causing your box to restart in its original factory state.

4. Be sure to check the adapter, plug it out if it is dusty, clean it then plug it again tightly to restore the proper supply to your box. Also, check for the possibility of whether the adapter is burnt or not.

5. Another solution may be to check whether the battery of your box is dead or not, in which case you should replace it or just check whether the battery is placed properly or not.

6. Make sure that the power source of your box is a direct power source such as a wall switch and not a secondary power source.

7. The last solution is one that does not fix your power button but does allow an alternative to operating the Android box which is to either use your smartphone as a remote if the remote does not work or download an online remote app that will allow you to do the same.

If none of the above-mentioned solutions work, please contact your manufacturer or take your Android box to the nearest service outlet where the issue can directly be resolved.

Reading the user manual before proceeding with any of the solutions is highly recommended.
