Data Is On But Can’t Access The Internet

you might have come across such times when your data is on but you can’t access the internet.

So for all such unpleasant moments, we have enlisted some workaround to help you get out of such moments,

Remedies For Data Being Turned On But The Internet Can’t Be Accessed:

1. Make Sure It’s Turned On

For that wait a few seconds and toggle the data’s button. Doing so, observe the data’s icon status. No matter which Operating System you use, you will be able to see the data’s icon

2. Check The Data Limit

To avoid extra charges while using data without bundles, make sure to re-check your mobile data limit. While the methods to check your remaining data bundle solely depend on your carrier. However, most carriers let the user check the remaining bundle through either their mobile app or through SMS code.

Depending upon your carrier, the bundle may or may not charge for checking your remaining data limit. If you have consumed your designated internet bundle, make sure to quickly re-subscribe it or turn data off, or else most carriers charge a large amount on using data without any subscription.

3. Run A Speed Test

Speed tests are a great way of testing the true potential of your signal’s strengths and mobile phone’s power. If you have turned on the data on your phone and have not yet reached the mobile data limit on it, then it’s the perfect time to test your internet speed.

This test will give you a great idea of whether the internet is connected and what speed you are getting. Based upon that speed test result you can get a better understanding of your mobile signal’s strength.

4. Check For Airplane Mode

Almost all new smartphones these days come with airplane mode which is specifically designed while traveling on an airplane. The airplane mode once enabled automatically cuts the Wi-Fi and mobile data connection.

Whether being turned on accidentally or having forgotten to disable the airplane mode, it’s a great catch to be sure of. Also if things work fine, and your mobile data sign is shown as turned on but still you can’t access the internet, then you can try double toggle your airplane mode.

This will instantly restart the cellular connections and may resume the previous unconnected link

5. Check Your Network’s Connection

Although rare at times it happens that though your signals appear to seem good, they aren’t. Mostly this dilemma appears on old phones. Plus, make sure that the signal bar is not empty while you have turned on your data and are not able to access the internet.

Plus make sure that you are within the proper region. Places like basements, highways, etc. are much prone to poor signal coverage. And not only that, next time do verify that correct and compatible combo is used on Sim and mobile phones.

Most mobile phones are limited to certain data bandwidths, which may also create problems if you have just started using the phone in a new region.

6. Rebooting Phone

And if none of the above solutions can make an impact, then the final call is for restarting the device. Different devices have different actions to trigger a restart. This problem is frequently seen in older phones.

The primary reason is that due to lack of CPU resources and high-demanding apps, the bottleneck is sometimes created which causes hindrance in the execution flow of most system tasks.

This is why you may have noticed that despite the data being turned on, you are not able to access the internet. So after the device is restarted, the bottlenecks are resolved to some extent and thus better data performance is attained.

7. Insert Your Sim Card Again

Another good workaround is to insert your sim card again into your phone. And make sure to switch off your mobile phone while you reinsert your sim card in the phone.

In the majority of the cases, the issues are resolved by restarting or reinserting your sim card on your phone.

Reasons For No Or Poor Mobile Data Connectivity:

1. Too many caches or tasks may lead to poor resource management

2. Certain problems with your carrier  in your area, country, the subscription plan

3. Problem with mobile device bandwidth issue in certain regions

4. Hardware problems

Conclusion:

While keeping all the above workarounds in our view, we have come to a point that there are many reasons for the problem of not connecting to the internet despite the data being turned on. Small steps like checking airplane mode, performing speed test, checking signal count, etc. can be performed as first aid to the raised problem.

If any of such solutions won’t work then steps like restarting or reinserting a Sim card in your phone can be better options. Or finally, you can perform a factory reset or visit the nearest customer service for better assistance.
