I recently had a bit of a tussle with my internet service provider when they decided to block my IPTV. It was a frustrating situation, but I managed to find some solutions that got me back to binge-watching my favorite shows in no time.
In this blog post, I’m going to share the 3 things I did to overcome this obstacle.
1. VPN to the Rescue
When my ISP decided to block my IPTV service, I was determined to find a way around it. After some research, I stumbled upon the magic solution called Virtual Private Network (VPN).
A VPN is like a secret tunnel for your internet traffic. It encrypts your data and reroutes it through servers located in various parts of the world.
This not only provides you with added security but also helps you bypass annoying restrictions like the one imposed on my IPTV.
Here’s how I used a VPN to get back on track:
Choose a Reputable VPN Service: I did my homework and picked a well-known, reliable VPN service. Some popular options include ExpressVPN, NordVPN, and CyberGhost. These VPNs offer robust security and plenty of server locations to choose from.
Connect to a Server in a Different Location: Once I subscribed to the VPN service, I connected to a server in a different country. This made my internet traffic appear as if it was originating from that country, effectively bypassing my ISP’s block.
Enjoy Uninterrupted IPTV: With the VPN in action, I could enjoy my IPTV service without any interference. It was like a digital superhero coming to my rescue!
2. DNS Change-Up
Another trick I tried when my IPTV was blocked was messing with the Domain Name System (DNS). The DNS acts as a phone book for the internet, translating domain names into IP addresses. By changing the DNS, you can sometimes get around content restrictions.
Here’s what I did:
Find Reliable Alternate DNS Servers: I researched and found alternative DNS servers that were not provided by my ISP. Some popular choices are Google’s 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, as well as Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1.
Configure Your Network Settings: I changed the DNS settings on my router or device to use one of these alternative DNS servers. This effectively bypassed the DNS-based restrictions imposed by my ISP.
Enjoy Unblocked IPTV: Once the DNS change was in place, I could access my IPTV without any issues. It’s a relatively simple trick that can work wonders.
3. Contacting Customer Support
When all else failed, I decided to reach out to my ISP’s customer support. Sometimes, these restrictions might be the result of a misunderstanding or a mistake. So, I gave them a call and explained my situation.
Here’s how it went down:
Be Patient and Polite: I made sure to be patient and polite when talking to customer support. They are more likely to help you out if you’re respectful and clear about your issue.
Explain the Situation: I explained that I was experiencing issues with my IPTV service and that it was essential for my entertainment needs. I also mentioned that I was a loyal customer.
Request Assistance: I asked if there was any way they could help me resolve the issue or provide an explanation for the block.
